Known for his global hit “Cheerleader (Felix Jaehn Remix),” Jamaican artist OMI debuts his new single “Masterpiece” produced by German platinum-selling DJ and producer Felix Jaehn out today via Ultra Records.
This is OMI and Felix’s first collaboration since topping the charts in over 50 countries with Felix’s 2015 remix of OMI’s smash hit “Cheerleader,” which spent six weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The new single offers OMI’s signature tropical influence, a perfectly crafted upbeat tempo by Felix, combined with lyrics that embrace the importance of a woman’s individuality. All of this making for a feel-good track to close out the summer.
“We are all different, but each of our differences make a difference in creating the masterpiece of life,” said OMI. “I’m happy that I finally had the opportunity to work alongside Felix on this record. The energy was awesome in the studio sharing ideas and challenging each other to make the record all it could be, I can’t wait for my fans to hear the final product and I also want them to know that they are my biggest motivation to continue making music. Fan of my fans forever.”
“‘Masterpiece’ honestly means so much to me,” Felix said. “Four years after remixing ‘Cheerleader’ and obviously having a global smash together with OMI we met for the very first time through our new song. The music this time actually united us. For me ‘Masterpiece’ is also special because it has a really cool message: everyone is a masterpiece, just the way they are. I think it’s telling everyone that as long as you are authentically you, you’re fine.”
With his hit “Cheerleader,” OMI received rapid international exposure and delivered RIAA Certified Gold album Me 4 U to his massive fanbase, which debuted at number 51 on the US Billboard 200. Now, post hiatus he is returning with new music and a project on the horizon, with a whole new kind of hype for his fans.
German platinum-selling DJ and producer Felix Jaehn has also gained global recognition from 2015 on. His massive breakout single with vocalist Jasmine Thompson, ‘Ain’t Nobody (Loves Me Better)’‚ became a worldwide sensation back in the days, officially establishing him as a fully-fledged superstar. In February of this year he released his successful debut studio album I.
